How we build shortlists

Last updated:

Shortlist Lab publishes role-based Amazon shortlists. This page is the visitor summary of how we choose, how roles work, and how often listings are refreshed. The six-step model lives on Editorial standards.

Shortlists use role-based picks - Top pick, Upgrade, Best value, and Premium. A card stays only when it was in stock for US shoppers when we checked. See price on Amazon is an affiliate link. Brands cannot buy a ranking slot.

What a shortlist is

We publish a short set of role-based picks for a job, not an endless ranked dump. Each card names who should skip it before you click through to Amazon. We do not run a product test lab.

How we choose

At a high level: start from the job, keep four roles, ground picks in listing facts we can confirm, sample recent buyer themes without inventing quotes, write who should skip, and show when prices and stock were checked. The full selection model is on Editorial standards.

Roles

Shortlists use role-based picks: Top pick, Upgrade, Best value, and Premium. Cards explain why this role fits and who should skip it. Assignment stays editorial.

How often listings refresh

We re-check US Amazon prices and stock as listings change. Each card shows when it was last checked. The date on the card is a listing check, not a lab test. An empty slot beats an out-of-stock pick. We do not run a countdown clock on this site, and we do not promise a fixed weekly clock.

What we will not do

How we are paid

See price on Amazon uses affiliate links to Amazon. If you click and buy something, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Brands cannot buy a ranking slot. Full disclosure: affiliate disclosure.
